What-if

With the What-if tool in OpsControl, dispatchers can quickly assess airport suitability and operational options using the same trusted data and thresholds already applied across AIR SUPPORT’s ecosystem.

What-if provides an early, reliable view of weather- and NOTAM-related constraints at departure, destination, and alternate airports, helping operations teams plan with confidence, reduce last-minute changes, and stay compliant. Built directly into OpsControl and developed in response to customer feedback, What-if supports smarter decisions both during the flight planning phase as well as during flight following.

What-if: Airport Suitability Check in OpsControl

With the What-if tool, the airports’ suitability can be computed and assessed also before a flight plan is released. After entering the departure, destination, alternates, and the planned ETD & ETAs, users get an instant overview based on the same thresholds utilized for Weather Watch and, if enabled, for NOTAM Watch. Each computation is displayed through a color-coded time bar, representing the required ±1 hour window, allowing flight planners and flight followers to graphically assess the airports’ suitability results.

Because What-if runs independently of flight plans, it can be used both in pre-flight scenario analysis and for in-flight replanning assessments, giving dispatchers a fast, intuitive, and effective tool to evaluate operational options.

Driven by Customer Feedback

Developed in response to customer requests, the What-if tool reflects how dispatchers work when assessing airport suitability. At AIR SUPPORT, user feedback plays a central role in product development, and several features have been shaped by customer input, with What-if being the latest example.
